Stop Real ID Now! Get-Together (SF) - 04/11/2007 4:45 pm
The Real ID Act of 2005 turns our state driver's licenses into a national identity card, , costs over $20 billion dollars, infringes privacy, and imposes major burdens on taxpayers, anybody renewing a driver's license, seniors, immigrants, transgender people, and state governments – while doing nothing to protect against terrorism. A huge coalition is fighting Real ID at the state and national level, and we need your help.
Please join us for a discussion about Real ID -- and how you can help stop it before it goes into effect.
Speaking and answering questions will be Deborah Pierce, Executive Director of Privacy Activism, and leader of the Stop Real ID Now! activism campaign.
